How To Make A Better Mac N Cheese

Ingredients

  • 1 box Elbow Macaroni (16 ounces)
  • 1 Cup Velveeta Cubed
  • 2 Cups Sargento, Cheddar Jack Cheese Shredded
  • 3/4 Cup Sharp Cheddar Shredded
  • 3 Tablespoons Mayonaise
  • 3 Large Eggs (whites only)
  • 2 Tablespoons Salted Butter
  • 1 Cup Half & Half cream
  • 2 Teaspoons Salt (for pasta water)
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt

Instructions

  1. In water with two teaspoons of salt boil macaroni until slightly soft (al dente), strain and leave in covered pot.
  2. Beat the egg whites separately, and (except for the 3/4 Cup shredded sharp cheddar and 1/2 tsp. salt) add all of the remaining ingredients to a pan on low heat.
  3. Stir until completely melted (add more half & half if needed). When nicely blended, pour macaroni into a 9x13 in baking dish, that has been sprayed with cooking spray(e.g. Pam)
  4. Pour cheese mixture over the top, then cover with the 3/4 cup of sharp cheddar cheese and bake at 350 degree preheated oven for about 15 to 20 minutes, or until slightly browned on top.
