Philly Cheese Steak Sammies
Ingredients
- 1 large onion sliced thin
- 1 each green & red bell peppers sliced thin
- 1 large container mushrooms sliced
- 1 Tbsp. oil
- 2 or 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 tsp. seasoned salt
- A few dashes hot sauce **if you like spicy!
- 1 envelope Lipton onion mushroom soup mix
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 Tbsp. worcestershire sauce
- 2 pounds deli roast beef shaved or sliced
- 8 slices cheese (pepper jack, mozz, provolone)
- 1 8 pack hoagie buns or soft flour tortilla shells
Instructions
- 1) In a large skillet, saute the onions, peppers, and mushrooms in the oil. Season with the garlic, pepper, seasoned salt, and pepper flakes.
- 2) After about 3 min. add the soup mix, water, worcestershire sauce, and beef; mix well. Simmer about 5 to 8 min. or till heated through and slightly thickened.
- Serve on buns with a slice of cheese.
- **OPTIONAL: You can pour everything in a large crock pot; after the last addition of ingredients in step 2 and simmer on low. Guests help themselves and just keep coming back for more!!
