Mac N Cheese
Ingredients
- 6 oz Elbow Macaroni Noodles 180 Grams
- 1/2 tsp Salt for Macaroni water
- 3 TBS Butter
- 3 TBS Flour
- 1 1/2 cups Milk or one can of Evaporated Milk
- 1/2 tsp Pepper
- 1 tsp Hot Sauce or 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- 3 oz Sharp Cheddar cheese 90 grams, Grated
- 3 oz Colby Jack cheese 90 grams, Grated
- 1/4 cup Bread crumbs
- 2 TBS Butter melted
Instructions
- Mix all the cheeses together and set aside
- Cook the Noodles to al dente according directions on package, drain and set aside
- Melt butter in large saucepan
- Add flour and mix constantly to create a Roux.
- (if using Evaporated milk, there is no need to use the butter/flour to make a roux)
- Slowly add milk stirring constantly.
- Bring to a boil on med high heat.
- Add pepper and hot sauce
- Once milk starts to thicken add the cheeses.
- Stir until all the cheese is melted.
- Remove from heat.
- Mix in the noodles till well blended
- You could eat just like this or:
- Put into an oven safe 6X9 dish. Cover with either more grated cheese or butter/bread crumb mixture.
- Place into a preheated 375 degree oven and bake for 25 minutes or until top is brown and cheese is bubbling.
